What Is Synapse and What Does It Do?

A number of things about Synapse Protocol are positive. The fact that Synapse is a cross-chain communication network that allows users to easily send tokens or other digital assets between multiple blockchains is extremely beneficial. Launch as Nerve Finance

In March 2021, the Synapse development team created a stable swap AMM called Nerve Finance, on the Binance Smart Chain. The primary objective of creating this AMM was to provide users with low slippage when exchanging stablecoins.

What Are Common Questions About Synapse?

Time to complete a transaction depends on block time of the receiving blockchain. Average time to complete a transaction is 2-5 minutes, but due to high volume and/or congestion on the network, times may vary depending on current conditions.

Assets cannot be lost regardless of the failure of a transaction. If a transaction fails to begin, Synapse’s support team will assist the user in finding resolution.

When slippage is extreme, Synapse will bridge the asset, instead of attempting to execute a swap that may result in loss of value. Once the asset is delivered to the user, the user can use the swap option to exchange the delivered asset for the intended token.

If your transaction is still pending for more than 2 hours, please contact Synapse Support via Discord. Network-related issues are generally resolved within 30 – 60 minutes.

As of today, Synapse supports more than 20 different blockchains (both EVM and non-EVM), including, but not limited to, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche, Base and Solana.

Under Synapse’s Optimistic Security Model, there are cross-chain MPC validators utilizing threshold signature schemes and before any transaction is processed, at least two thirds of all validators must agree.

Synapse is known for competitive pricing, offering lower fees than its competitors in more than 80 percent of routes tested. Fees from Synapse may differ based on the route selected and may also include gas costs of the destination blockchain(s).
